Introducing the all-new Type 81 SR, developed to enhance the capability of the Type 81 platform, the SR features a number of changes over the legacy Type 81 including:
• Heavy profile barrel for increased accuracy
• Thumbhole Stock with reversible cheekrest for LH shooters
• Flat bottom extended handguard for more stability when shooting from rested surfaces
• 5 Round waffle-pattern magazine for bench and prone shooting capability
• Threaded muzzle for attachment of optional accessories
• Adjustable Trigger stop screw for added precision
• Lightened Trigger pull weight for added precision
Offered in deep blued finish over satin-finish wood stock, with threaded receiver pins ready to accept side-mount optics. Comes with two 5/5 magazine, oil bottle and manual, sling included. All parts and components are brand new production, not surplus.
The Type 81 is a gas operated, magazine fed, semi-automatic rifle. It uses a short-stroke gas piston, located above the barrel, and a two-position gas regulator. The bolt group (of the rotating bolt type) is borrowed from the Type 63 rifle. Type 81 rifles also retains the Type 63 bolt hold-open device, which catches the bolt in the open position after the last round has been fired from magazine. The fire selector – safety switch is located at the left side of the receiver, just above the pistol grip, and can be easily operated with the right hand thumb. The open sights are marked from 100 to 500 meters, with the front sight being mounted just ahead of the gas block.
Important Notes: There is a second trigger stop screw included in the delivery kit, the one installed in the firearm is too long. The use of blue loctite is recommended for both the trigger stop screw and the threaded scope mount pins, to retain position during repeated use. During testing some occasional shell casing deflections were noted on sunshade, however the deflections were secondary and no noted impact to POI was observed. Some light casing marks may develop over use on sunshade that are only aesthetic in nature.
